On July 1, 1962 a Lutheran mission congregation was established in Albany at 34th Avenue and Columbus. From then until January 1, 1967, the church was an extension of Immanuel Lutheran Church, LCMS. In fact, for those five years, the name “Immanuel-Good Shepherd” identified one congregation in two places. On January 7, 1967 it became an independent congregation with the Rev.
